Robert and Anne Lynch

Matthew's grandad Bert was a great grandfather and father. An avid church goer he used to take us to clean up the church grounds sometimes. I remember his whistle and constant cheer. Playing the mouth organ wherever we went. A great sense of humour. Feeding the animals at Camperdown Park in Dundee, especially Jeremy the bear. He really loved animals. He sang in the choir and played the piano for the old folks in the local home every week. He was a keen golfer and Dundee United fan. He used to love cards and we'd play for hours before going to bed when they came down to stay. "There's one going buckshee" was his trumps catch phrase. Matthew's grandmother Anne was born in Dundee. She worked in the Marks and Spencers Department store before becoming a mum to 4 children, John, David, Robin and Alison. Gran would always be doing the crossword or wordsearch and loved to take us all for trips out to Broughty Ferry for lunch at a posh hotel and a wee run in the country.

Great Grandad & Gran were married  around 1895 and lived
                                   at 25 Highcroft, Swanley.
My Great Grandfather worked on Vincents Farm as a ploughman
(ploughing with four horses and an up and over plough ) this was a plough that
you turned over at each end of the field, to save you turning the plough around.
My Great Grandmother was kept busy looking after her eight children
( Olive, Bill, Kathline, George, Nellie, Hilda, Jack, and my Grandfather, Gerald).                    Great Grandad, John Saw (l?) was born 13 September 1871
( we never knew anything about his family as he was fostered).
It was said that he was born with the name Saw, but due to some mix up,
he ended up with the name of Sawl.
He died at the age of 76 on the 8 December 1947.
My Great Grandmother was born on February 7th 1873
